Ag Ventures Alliance would like to invite you to the second Young Farmers Group meeting. We will meet Tuesday, August 23rd from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, 9 North Federal Ave, Mason City, IA. Please RSVP by August 16th, 2016 to Spencer Stensrude by phone (641) 494-2368 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
At the first meeting we asked what topics young farmers would benefit the most from hearing. The participants answered loud and clear that they want to learn more about Cover Crops.
AgVA has reached out to NRCS Soil Conservationist, Emily Funk, and Soil Conservation Technician, Lynn Kluver, to give a short presentation on the pros, cons, and cost sharing programs available for cover cropping. We asked ourselves what else we would need to know before we could make a decision for our own farms, and decided we better invite Zack Smith to speak at the meeting as well. Zack is a young farmer that has been growing cover crops on his farm over several seasons and is willing to share the struggles and benefits he has experienced in the process. We aim to make this an event packed full of actionable information.
There is no cost to attend the meeting. Dinner will be catered by Rib Crib. Please share this with any young farmer in your network as an invitation for them to attend, as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please RSVP to Spencer Stensrude at (641)-494-2368 or by email at email@example.com by August 15th, 2016. If you have any questions or suggestions to discuss please don’t hesitate to contact Spencer.
